Where does the book information come from?
Information comes from Ingram Content Group, a global leader in book distribution and publisher services. We receive data feeds directly from our network of publishers, making us the largest book-based database in the industry.
How do I search for content?
If you know the exact title you’re looking for, you can enter the ISBN, title, or author in the Basic search bar at the top of the page.
For broader searches, Advanced Search helps refine results using filters such as Rights Status, Genre, Audience, Author, Publisher, Publication Date, and more.
How can I search specifically for titles available for adaptation?
In the Advanced Search, select the Rights Status drop-down menu and check Available
How do I contact a rights holder?
Contact Information is located in the Rights Information section.
What if no rights data is found for a title?
Click the Request Rights Info button and we will research the rights availability on your behalf.
Can I view all titles a rights holder represents?
Yes. In the Rights Information tab of a title, click on the rights holder’s name to see their profile including a full list of titles they have added to MediaScout.
Can I save titles for later?
Yes, MediaScout allows you to add titles to a reading list to revisit later.
Does MediaScout assist with rights negotiation?
No, MediaScout provides the latest status the rights holder provided and their contact information. Reach out to the rights holder directly via the contact information provided for further information and negotiations.
Buyers interested in rights will contact the rights holder directly.
How can I see other books by an author?
Users should select a title that the author has written. They can then click About the Author to receive more information about the talent, including other books they have contributed to.
